Art is my door into a universe full of possibilities; and glass is my key.

From a very young age my overactive imagination has always created stories with light, color and shadow. It is this curiosity that is the spark of my playful artistic investigations. Creating is my meditation for manifesting fantastical stories into the physical world. When I cannot understand what is happening in the world, there are always two constants—heat and gravity. Glass changed me, climbed inside me and taught me about community, perseverance, strength, fragility and memory. The precious moments we share in the hotshop inform my practice; outside I am guided to explore in many mediums.

My work is seeded from divine moments in Nature. Using both observation and intuition I create work that blurs the line of reality and imagination. I place intention in all of my creations; approaching my art practice with playful whimsy, allowing myself to fall into what the medium asks to be. Glass is a collaboration, as it informs me I am able to breathe the glass into form, solidifying my narrative through its existence. My audience is transported, as I present new realms and timelines of existence through my creations. There is a duality of micro and macro within my work; often times an entire universe is held within one leaf. These creations become a being of their own, with their own presence, anthropomorphized through the transformation of fire.

Nature is my muse, I aim for the viewer to absorb a greater awareness of Her mystical moments through the lens of my work. Society moves so swiftly, that often these fleeting precious moments presented by Nature, are overlooked. It’s about rekindling that spark as we connect to the universe around us, in new and transformative ways. Within my art, the viewer is given an opportunity to pause and listen to their intuition; to reflect, and adopt a child like sense of curiosity and wonder.
